Atiku blasts Tinubu, warning that hunger and poverty could spark a Nigerian revolution like the Arab Spring if government neglect continues.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has launched a blistering attack on President Bola Tinubu’s administration, accusing it of pushing Nigerians into unprecedented hunger, poverty, and frustration.

In a statement signed by his media adviser, Paul Ibe, Atiku, who was the PDP’s 2023 presidential candidate, said Tinubu’s government had shown “zero capacity” to confront the hunger crisis after two years in power.

“At this time, there are no manifest signs that this government is capable of addressing the grim issue of severe hunger staring the poor in the face,” Atiku warned.

He cautioned that Nigeria was sliding into a dangerous zone of mass unrest, drawing chilling parallels with the French Revolution, the Russian Revolution of 1917, the Arab Spring, and even the ENDSARS protests, all of which were triggered by public rage against hunger and government failure.

“Whatever reform Tinubu may be parading, the truth is that food insecurity is a daily nightmare. No serious government abandons its citizens to hunger and pretends reforms are enough,” Atiku said.

The former vice president went further, accusing the Tinubu administration of policies that are “ill-advised, insensitive, and deadly to the poor”, insisting that Nigerians are either dying of hunger or barely surviving at the mercy of reckless decisions.
