In an emotional ridden letter addressed to the Lenders Task Force of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), Mr Aturu says he was raising a serious concern regarding the collection practices of a loan platform named Go Cash against his person.
According to Aturu, he was warning ahead that Go Cash may want to harass his contacts or post derogatory information about him to damage his reputation among other things.
Read his statement in full:
Dear Lenders Task Force,
I am writing to raise a serious concern regarding the collection practices of a loan platform named Go Cash (iOS). I obtained a loan from this platform, and their collection approach has been vile, insensitive, and a complete disregard for my right to privacy. As a working professional currently facing financial difficulties, I have found their methods extremely distressing and mentally destabilizing.
Despite my ongoing efforts to manage my situation, the numerous threats I have received from Go Cash have driven me to contemplate suicide. Their practices are not only unethical but also more damaging to my reputation than the unrealistic interest rates on the loan. To be factual, I am being harassed to repay the loan even though today is not the due date. Even if it were, such an approach is unacceptable.
I have requested an extension on the loan duration at a revised interest rate or a blacklisting on my BVN while I remain indebted to them, but these requests have been ignored. I fear they may carry out the threats they have made, which include but are not limited to:
- Harassing all my contacts
- Posting derogatory information about me to damage my reputation
- Circulating an obituary of my person
- Engaging in hacking activities using my personal information in their possession
Please find attached three seperate screenshots from three different numbers as evidence, and there are several more I can share if this is required further. I urgently request that the Lenders Task Force investigate this matter and intervene to ensure a different collection approach or a reasonable arrangement for overdue interest accumulation, which I promise to repay when I am able to meet all obligations.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
