NCash, Sokoloan, PalmCash, 9credit, GotoCash, Cash Wallet ForNaira loan apps are scamming Nigerians, Google Play should ban them

Why does Google still allows scam apps like NCash, Sokoloan, PalmCash, 9credit, Cash Wallet, Cash Lion, etc continue to be hosted on their Play Store, after multiple infractions on their operational and private policies? These loan apps are set up in our view to swindle unsuspecting Nigerians, asking them to make deposits before loan approval, deducting upfront service fees from their debit cards, many of these loan apps are owned by Chinese Loan Sharks, and they charge interest rate as much as 100%, many times request repayment within 7 days. Writes Femi Adeoya, Senior Consultant with QUICK LOAN ARENA.

Investigation by QUICK LOAN ARENA has revealed that NCash, Sokoloan, PalmCash, 9credit, GotoCash, Cash Wallet, ForNaira and many other predatory quick online loan apps all hosted on Google Play Store are scamming and predating poor and hapless Nigerians who are unfortunate enough to request loan advances from them.

Nigerians are going through very hard and tough times especially post the Covid 19 era that led to the loss of millions of jobs, and collapse of millions of small businesses with it associated pains and suffereing on Nigerian people. Many of them with families to cater for have to resort to quick online loan apps for stop gap survival to meet financial obligation and keep body and soul together.

Many of these Nigerians cannot afford the bureaucracy, collateral and documentation requirements of the traditional deposit money banks and have to resort to quick loan apps for help, because they do not require collateral, nor documents and they are fast in approval and disbursements.

Unfortunately many of the loan apps hosted on Google Play have become largely unregulated, blatantly flouting the giant network policies to carry out its nefarious and unethical activities against Nigerian customers seeking for a way out.

The Central Bank of Nigeria too is looking the other way and acting as if nothing is happening as the apex bank has failed in its regulatory duties to call these loan sharks to order and enforce its local laws and regulation on them.

Our investigations further reveal that almost all these predatory loan apps are owned by Chinese loan sharks that host the platform on Google under pretentious headings and without any website address, no physical office, no customer care or contact phone number, no customer care emails and no acessibility. It’s almost impossible to reach out to any of them.

Most of these loan apps have become loan sharks charging as much as 100% interest rate, and restricting repayment to not more than 7 days. When it’s a day left for you to make repayment, these apps starts sending warning and threatening messages to you and to all your contact list warning you to beware and make payment immediately or have yourself exposed as a fraudster to all your contacts. The threat extends to customers’ contact list who are even unaware you have ever collected a loan. This is quite unethical.

Last week, QUICK LOAN ARENA reported how LCredit loan app was removed by Google Play Store after it was detected to be spying their customers’ phone contacts, email messages, banking details etc. Many more of these apps are flouting Google policies and disclosure requirements, on loan approval, disbursement procedures, interest charges and tenure and yet, the platform allows them free ride to continue predating on Nigerians.

loan apps

We expect Google Play Store to carry out investigations and place a ban on every loan apps in Nigeria flouting its operational and procedural rules.

LCredit employed all manner of blackmail on me all because they loaned me 7k to repay 12800 in 14 days which I couldn’t meet up. They went on sending defamatory messages to my contacts I didn’t even know how they got hold of their numbers.
I told the buffoon that until he writes back to those contacts of mine to say that I ain’t a fraudster, I am not paying them a dime.

Adebimpe Adebiyi

Ndee Zuby
If you want these evil apps to be removed faster from Google Play Store, after dropping a negative review with 1star, click on the 3 dotted lines at the right top corner and flag them as inappropriate. Flagging brings them down faster.

LCredit

BABALOLA ABDUR-RAZAAQ
It was a bad and nasty experience I had with the NCash loan app, I regretted been on the platform. I took the loan 12times despite being little amount, I used to repaid before due date, unfortunately, the loan I took last I could not repaid at the due date and they called my contacts, the worst, they sent blackmail and defamatory message to several of my contacts, this is worst denting customer image whom you have made several thousands of naira from. Summarily, this app is nothing but BLACKMAILER.

Oyedokun Samuel
After much complains, Google has banned Lcredit. Search Lcredit on Playstore, they can’t be found anymore. If you have Lcredit , 9jacash, Cashlion and Quick credit. Delete this apps from your phone. they’re all fraudsters.

Paulitodo Samuel
May be what we should be doing is reporting them to Google and their app would be remove.. wicked scammer in disguise

Blessing Enebeli
They need to report this loan people.
You collect loan because one didn’t pay back on time you start sending sms to all contacts, and they think after sending sms to all contacts they will still get their money.
Hell no. The money can’t be paid back.
Instead they loose customers more.
Money borrowed will be paid back not sending sms to all contacts.
They don’t know they are creating more havoc to themselves.

Dafemi Mukoro
They are fools they are useless people somebody collect loan you never know what the person is facing on the other side and they will be sending contact threatening people insulting people nobody will pay will pay that loan back what nonsense

Olufunmilayo Titilope
This is very true of all of them. Loan apps have no right intruding into privacies of people.I think someone needs to sue them. How will you be calling or sending messages to people who never signed to be guarantors to any loan? Their high and ridiculous interest needs to be looked into by government which is why many fail to pay back the loans.how will you force longer months on people to get higher money from them without giving them opportunity to pick what they can manage.Horrible

Engr Esty Emma
These people make me loose my contract after lying to my contacts …

Agu Tobenna Uchenna
These people with very outrageous interest, especially 9ja Cash, GoCash, LCredit, BorrowNow, and Palmcash

Lee Alex Lawson
Lcredit is worse. Their interest is very high. I collected 17000 to pay 22000. My phone actually blocked them from viewing my contacts. I regretted collecting the money.

Joseph Machiavelli
People are ignorant of the existence of NITDA and even the oversight functions of the CBN in regulating the activities of these fintechs.

Ajiboye Funmilola Elizabeth
Olufunmilayo Titilope I can’t blame these loan apps if not our government that is very wicked that allow evil people like this to be giving loan in a short period of a week two weeks with crazy interest

Joseph Livingstone Igoniwari
They’ll ask for guarantors but will still go ahead and send messages to random people on your contact list telling them they’re the guarantors you gave to them.
It’s criminal and should be condemned

Bibire Ismail Abolaji
Those loan apps are just too cruel despite the high interest they charge, they still act unprofessional by calling their customers contacts.

Prince Theoson Emmanuel
Google send me message and ask me to delete the Lcredit App because is a spam that they are trying to monitor my sms, calls recording, WhatsApp etc

Maga Clem Omaga
I borrowed 7200 they gave me 5000 asking me to pay 14,000 that is overdue.. sincerely speaking,i will not pay that money.they are very wicked.l credit

  1. Iam just reading it ..Itis a serious issue…and this is what CBN should be going after and not speculators like Aboki falafala.

Then next time hyphen should be before 19 in Covid…

And avoid etc as much as you could ,not only because of formality, but also because it leaves room for thinking that extensive research has not be done or a longer list is still hanging somewhere.

    My observation by the way.

It is a great one with all honestly…beautifully crafted..

  2. Dear writer thank you so much for bringing this fraudulent issue in the guise of to limelight, I personally have had urgly experience with Sokoloan, 9jacash, Fast money, Gocash, Ncash, 9credit and others all belonging to Chinese companies because they see Nigeria as a free market. No form of regulation has been followed and the policy and respect to clients privacy has been flawed. please I wish we could push this to the national assembly for urgent and necessary action.

  3. NCash, 9Credit have similar operations technique. Ive been a victim of both apps, I borrowed 9500 naira only from 9Credit to pay 13800 withing 7 days, I couldnt pay up the entire 13800, I now paid 7500 the transaction description in my online banking app I wrote, “loan partial payment “. Despite making this partial payment as a sign that I have intentions to pay, they still went ahead to send defamatory messages to my contacts, I have screen shot of the messages, as my evidence, till date.
Ncash, the agent outrightly told me he doesnt want me to pay again, that he wants to deal with me, and kept on sending defamatory messages, I also have screenshot of his/statement saying, “he just wants to deal with me”.
Its really sad. Ncash, Sokoloan, 9credit are the same as Lcredit

  5. 320772 647231The book is wonderful, but this review is not exactly spot-on. Being a Superhero is more about selecting foods that heal your body, not just eating meat/dairy-free. Processed foods like those mentioned in this review arent what Alicia is trying to promote. Should you arent open to sea vegetables (and yes, Im talking sea weed), just stop at vegan. 204338
