Scam alert: What to do if you keep receiving illegal debit alerts

People fall for different scams every day and most don’t know the source. Only few payment platforms are legit in our today’s fast growing FINTEC world especially in Nigeria.

You can’t just put in your account and card details everywhere because they tell you your details are safe with them. Most online payment platforms are not legal. Any transaction they effect in your account is not traceable as the scammers keep perfecting their illegalities and cleaning up their trails.

So to address the issue at hand, if you’re a victim, and you keep receiving debit alerts of transactions you never initiated, don’t waste your time calling anyone, the first thing you should immediately do is call the customer care of your bank and tell them to block your ATM Card and mobile app if possible.

After that is done, go to your bank, write a letter to your branch customer support to request for a new card and re-install the mobile app. Don’t go to bed without doing this otherwise by morning, your account may be empty. If your phone is stolen or lost, you can do this as well.
