Unfortunately it has also given rise to quick loan sharks and scam lending apps whose only objective is to exploit poor Nigerian masses and rob them of their hard earned money.
It is expected that when a market is striving, it will attract more investors and at the same time should attract more regulations and monitoring both from the government and stakeholders. Failure to do this will expose the citizens who patronize such markets to different dangers ranging from fraud to exploitation and to outright digital robbery.
It is hoped that this will not be the case but in reality, it is more than what is expected as it is difficult to vouch for the different quick loan apps now being paraded on Google Play Store. Many of these lending sharks that claims to give low-interest quick loans to Nigerians have no physical address, website, or social media page. Majority of the apps are even not worthy to be on Google Play Store as they violate several rules of the store but still found their way therein.
Some of the applications do nothing but exploit undiscerning Nigerians by charging exorbitant interest rates to be repaid in a very short period of time contrary to what they put on their download page in Google Play Store. Others don’t even have anything to offer other than to deceive people to get them to pay some deposit or have them fill out their critical banking details and after that, defraud their accounts.
One of such fraudulent lending app, according to Quick loan Arena findings is Rapid Naira. This app is on Google Playstore and it claims to be a quick loan app. However it has no website, no physical office address, no social page pages and no digital trace apart from the download capability.
Rapid Naira slogan on Google Playstor is “Reliable Instant loans in Nigeria” but our findings reveal they are one of the most unreliable scam quick loan apps in the country.

Rapid naira are really fake. They are fraudulent. I am a victim of their evil business.
The said I am qualified for 9900 naira loan, but when they paid, they disbursed 7250 naira to be repaid within 5days with 11750 naira.
I tried to pay their money instantly, but it did not go through. I sent messages, they said they would act on it. Only for them to ask me to pay the money at the fifth day.
I tried to pay by entering on the information they asked for including my ATM card pin; but after that, it still did not go through.
I don’t know what they are up to now.
Please, someone should advice me.
Uninstall their app immediately, and if you can,let them know you are no longer interested. You are about to go into transaction with a loan shark, you can win!
I don’t understand. Do they they have the tech tools to take money from someone’s account apart from the details of the debit cards they always request? I took a loan from them. It wasn’t up to the amount I needed but I made sure to remove all my money from that my bank account whose card details I submitted to them. That means even if they want to take money from that account without my knowledge or approval, it will bounce back as insufficient fund. I can even easily block the card through the bank mobile app. I have also turned off all permission to their apps in my phone. Which means, they can’t use their app to read or explore my phone data.
Kindly wait for them to call you and swear for them ..never giver your information out to them …they are bunch of robbers..they have stole over 30k In my account and they only borrow me 13.500 .. But I’m waiting for them to call me . I will let them know that this is Nigeria that ever scam will be fishing out … Don’t give any off your information out to them .. robbers
JUST THE SAME THING THE SO CALLED RAPID NAIRA LOAN DID TO ME TODAY, I BORROWED MONEY FROM THEM LAST WEEK AND AFTER REPAYING IT I REFUSED TO BORROW AGAIN BECAUSE OF THE HIGH CHARGES I SAW ON THE APP, BUT JUST TODAY THEY DISBURSED ME WITHOUT MY APPROVAL WITH THE SUM OF 46970 FOR ME TO PAY 71797 WITHING 7 DAYS, NOW I HAVE MADE UP MY MIND THAT I WILL NOT PAY BACK THE MONEY ON THE DUE DATE SO THAT THEY CAN CALL WILL CALL ME LET ME ASKED THEM WHY THEY DISBURSED ME WITHOUT MY APPROVAL
