Checks by QUICK LOAN ARENA this evening indicates that the rogue lending app, Sokoloan, that has been at the fore of sending defamatory messages to its customers and their contacts, is back on Google Play Store.
Shock as rogue app, Sokoloan returns to Google Play Store
Sokoloan which is owned and managed by Soko Lending Company Ltd has been added to our list of blacklisted apps few days ago along with some of its jointly managed apps. such as Gocash, 9jaCash, FastMoney and others.
On Tuesday QUICK LOAN ARENA exclusively reported that Google has removed the rogue and fraudulent loan app from its Play Store for serial violation of its policies. Sokoloan has been terrorising and defaming its customers and their contacts in recent times.
In August 2021, Sokoloan was sanctioned N10m fine for spying and invading its customers’ data privacy , and God sending threat messages to the customers and their contact lists who were never parties to any loan agreement.
In the landmark enforcement, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) imposed a fine of N10 million on the digital lending platform for spying, invading and compromising the data privacy of its customers.
On Monday, QUICK LOAN ARENA started a series of investigative reports where we commenced blacklisting of some loan apps in Nigeria over breach of data privacy of their customers and their contact lists. Sokoloan and its sister app, 9jaCash made that list.
